In a move that has left fans teary-eyed and marketing teams euphoric, influencer power couple Shane and Livi—known online as @OurJourneyToUs—announced their divorce this week through a meticulously branded 14-minute YouTube video titled “We Grew Apart, But Not Apart from Sponsorships.”

Set against a backdrop of warm lighting, succulents, and curated vulnerability, the video walked viewers through their mutual decision to separate “as adults, as best friends, and as monetized souls.” The tearful narration was interrupted only by five integrated ad reads, including a HelloFresh promo code (“Use code SADMEALS for 20% off”) and a limited-run artisanal candle collab scented with sage and emotional growth.
“We’ve decided to co-parent our dog and our audience with equal intention,” Shane said, holding Livi’s hand with the sort of forced ease typically seen in pharmaceutical commercials.
The couple, who rose to fame through joint ASMR routines and Bali-based gratitude reels, emphasized that the split was not due to infidelity, toxicity, or burnout—but rather a “natural algorithmic drift.”
“We just… started getting targeted ads for different futures,” Livi added.
Fans flooded the comments with support, confusion, and pre-orders for the Goodbye Bundle, which includes their joint memoir (Who Are We Now?), a digital scrapbook of their relationship’s highest-performing posts, and a coupon for couples therapy “even if you’re just friends now.”
Media analysts are calling the breakup rollout “a new era in lifestyle monetization.” According to influencer economy tracker CloutPulse, the divorce video tripled their average engagement rate and spawned a new genre on TikTok: #BreakUpWithMeContent.
“They’ve managed to be emotionally available and algorithmically optimized,” said culture critic Meena Howser. “It’s the digital version of Gwyneth and Chris’s conscious uncoupling, but with affiliate links.”
Some critics, however, questioned the sincerity of the announcement. “The tears were real,” tweeted one follower. “But so was the lighting. So… what are we doing here?”
The couple insists this is not the end of their brand—just a rebrand. Livi will launch a solo YouTube channel called Healing With Highlights, while Shane plans to start a podcast titled My Ex, My Algorithm.
Their dog, Leo, has reportedly signed with a pet influencer agency.
